Divergent (Divergent, #1)Divergent by Veronica Roth
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved the concept of the 5 factions and their roles. Tris is a very easy character to relate too. The ups and downs of leaving her family for a faction that is in ways alike, however very different to her upbringing. Initiation is the hardest thing to get through. Can Tris make it or will she be left factionless which is her greatest fear. Four, is he friend or foe. One minute he seems to be a protector and a friend and then he is yelling at her. Will she work him out. Eric one of the dauntless leaders seems pure evil. Is there something he is hiding? Will Tris be forgiven for not staying with the Abnegation?

A fantastic novel. Highly recommended to anyone who loves YA fiction and or dystopian genre.

Insurgent (Divergent, #2)Insurgent by Veronica Roth
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fantastic sequel. Faction turns against faction. There is something that certain leaders don't want everyone to know. Will it be discovered before it's too late. Will Tris and Tobias survive the attempts to turn them against one another? The ending leaves you desperate for book 3.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Just read some of the reviews and I am hesitant to continue reading now. I loved the first 2 books so much.

Tris and Tobias (Four) find out what is beyond the wall when the Allegiant faction go to find out if Edith Prior's message is correct. The Allegiant split into 2 groups, one to stay and fight the new factionless army and the other to find out what is beyond that wall and if they can help stop the violence in the city. What they find seems great until the truth is revealed.

Despite what a lot of people have said about the end. I must say it was ok. I loved the book. Yes it was sad however, I don't think a book always has to have a happy ending and I also think that Veronica Roth has done a great job with the book. Look at the passion it has created from it's readers. Whether it be outrage or enjoyment, she has achieved what I think a lot of authors strive to achieve and that is making the readers 'feel' the book and it's characters. Let's face it, I get upset with movies and books when they don't end how I want them to. Doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it, just means it has made me passionate about it and stirred up my emotions towards it.
