The Forgotten Ones (The Danaan Trilogy #1) by Laura Howard

Wow, a fantastic mystical storyline. Allison lives with her grandparents who have raised her and looked after her mother since they returned to America. Liam, Allison's father abandoned them and sent Beth into her own mind and left her having schizophrenic episodes. When Liam shows up claiming he can help cure Beth, Allison is unsure whether to trust him. However when Beth disappears she has no choice but let him lead her into his mystical world. Will they find her in time? I was gifted this novel by the author in exchange for an honest and fair review. I loved this book and struggled to out it down, I am really looking forward to reading more in the adventure and finding out where it may lead.

The Wolf's Cry (The Semei Trilogy, #1) by Natalie Crown

Little does she know it, but Kammy's life is about to change drastically. While out for a run to her favourite place in the woods, Kammy's discovers a tunnel, but this is no ordinary tunnel, it will introduce her to the world so Semei. Follow the adventures of the characters and friends in the book, Tayah, Eric and Jad. They are a little miffed to have a human in their midst, until they get to know her and then they are willing to put their lives on the line to help save her friend from Bagor's evil clutches. This is a wonderful fantasy novel that shows friendship isn't selective, I love the twists in the plot that make you want to read on .i loved reading this story and can not wait for number 2. This novel was gifted to me by the author in exchange for an honest and fair review.

In Your Dreams (In Your Dreams #1) by Amy Martin

A great story. I enjoyed the teenage emotions that are written in so well. Kieran's troubles are just beginning. Zip (Zara) feels the friendship forming from the start. Little does she know what the Lanier's weird behaviour is hiding. I love how Kayla and Zip's friendship starts rocky, but develops into a mutual love and protection of Kieran. Adventure, romance, mystery, twists and turns around every corner. A fantastic YA novel that I would recommend.

As You Wake (In Your Dreams #2) by Amy Martin

I enjoyed the second instalment, how everyone tied in together. How Morgan has become part of the family. The unexpected addition towards the end, is he stalking them? When they thought their problems were over? Loved the explanations and the twists and turns. The continued relationship between Kieran and Zip is lovely and the talk between Zip and her parents was inspiring and something that I need to remember for when my kids reach this point in their lives.

Before You Sleep (In Your Dreams #3) by Amy Martin

Fantastic third novel in the series. The relationship between Kieren and Zip only gets stronger. Cooper goes through with the treatment against recommendation. But he comes out of it with only a temporary amnesia. Kieren is not convinced he wants to risk losing everything to cure his condition. But after much convincing Zip thinks she has convinced him. How heartbreaking is it to get everything you want only to lose it all the following day! I am really looking forward to reading more and discovering if Kieren regains his memories. Will life ever be the same?

The Profiler (The Munro Family #1) by Chris Taylor

But will it be all ripped away from her before she gets a chance to appreciate it. Great storyline great characters

Rain Shadow (Rainshadow #1) by Tess Oliver

a twist I never saw coming. If you like Sons of Anarchy you will enjoy this novel.

Jack-Knifed (DCI Martin Phelps #1) by Wonny Lea

Great story with an unexpected twist. I enjoyed the characters and the way they interact with each other. Look forward to reading more from this author.

The Upshot by Brad Spencer

A story of friends spending their childhood together as the best of friends. Something happens to one of them to change the path their lives are to take. Jimmer changes after seeing his father commit suicide. No longer wanting to be seen as a whimp he teams up with his coach and becomes a muscled up looker with a flair for the ladies and a little side business. Sam moves away and gets married and is living an unhappy marriage. Holly falls to the drugs after being a perfect child most of her life. This is a great story of friendship despite the challenges and the ultimate revenge. I really enjoyed this novel. It took me awhile to get my head into the jumping around in time however. Past to present and back again. I was gifted this book from the author in exchange for an honest and fair review

The Blue Nowhere by Jeffery Deaver

A great psychological crime novel. Twists and turns keep you guessing right to the end. It's scary to think that this could easily be or become reality. Big brother is watching. But could it get you killed. A computer game spilling into the real world. My first novel by Jeffrey Deaver. I look forward to reading more of his novels.

Torn Between Two Worlds (Guardians #1) by Lexi Ostrow

I loved the storyline. Something totally different to what I have read before. Stryker is a hot demon/ guardian who word speaker Ciara chooses after she splits from her long time boyfriend and her guardian at the same time. She is not happy to see him in the beginning. But all that changes. I would not recommend it for anyone under 18. Extremely graphic sex scenes. (Hot stuff) are a little repetitive at times, but get the heart racing all the same. There are a few spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. But still worth a read. 4 stars from me :)

Timebound (The Chronos Files #1) by Rysa Walker

Great read. Kate is surprised at what her estranged grandmother has to tell her. But she listens all about CHRONOS and learns what she can do. Will she be able to change things to save the world as she knows it? I found it a little hard to get into when I first started this novel, however it had me hooked before long. Wanting to know what happens around every corner. A little romance a little suspense are enough to leave me wanting more. Looking forward to part 2.

An Heiress for His Empire (Ruthless Russians #1) by Lucy Monroe

Great storyline. Easy read.

Benton - Jolie du Pre

An ok read, Due to the sex scenes in it I wouldn't give it to my 13 year old son to read, but it would be something he would enjoy. Maybe 15/16 year old boys/girls would be a great target audience. A quick fun read about zombies and learning to survive in a world where they are taking over.

Letters To Sam: a grandfather's letters to his grandson on love, loss and the gifts of life - Daniel Gottlieb

This was a inspiring read, a grandfather who is learning to live with disability and the trials that go along with it shares his insights with his grandson who is born austistic. There is many things in this book that we can all learn from. A beautiful read

Otherkin Nina Berry

Great novel for young adults. Des has no idea about her past, Until the shift she has no idea she is a shifter, When she meets a cute boy who is in a cage, her life changes drastically, Will she be the one to bring the Otherkin world together to live in harmony? Easy read and highly recommended for YA readers.

The Fallen Star - Jessica Sorensen

A great novel, I can't wait to read more. I love the characters in this novel, the all have strong personalities and they work well together in the plot. Discovering their stories is enjoying although I would love to read a spin off about Laylen. Imagine having no emotions all your life and then suddenly you wake up one day and get flooded with emotion that you now need to learn to live with. When Alex comes into her life things really get difficult, the electricity between them can not be denied, even though they both try. The world as she knows it is going to change and not for the better.

Slings and Arrows - Julie Elizabeeth Powell

Slings & ArrowsSlings & Arrows by Julie Elizabeth Powell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This novel was gifted to me by the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

A heartbreaking true story from a mother who has lost her child. Her body remains, but her spirit has left. The day to day struggles and emotions of not wanting to let go, but not wanting her to suffer anymore. The guilt and the grief.

Thank you Julie for sharing your story with the world. Truly inspiring.

The Plan - Qwen Salisbury

The PlanThe Plan by Qwen Salsbury
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have a plan :) ever heard the saying about best laid plans? Emma and her co-workers betting pool runs hot. How long will Canon's PA last this time?
Things take a big turn when Emma suddenly becomes the subject being bet on. Will she last? How long will she suffer the attitude of the Big "A"boss. Will all her observations be enough to get her through? Little does she know he also has a plan.

Great story, very steamy and erotic. Taming the boss.

Infinity - Sherrilyn Kenyon

Infinity (Chronicles of Nick, #1)Infinity by Sherrilyn Kenyon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A really different concept to the Dark Hunter series. I enjoyed reading Nick's story. About things he has to deal with before becoming Kyrian's squire.

Zombie's, werewolves, diamonds & demons, to Nick these were all fairy tales, but what he is about to learn will change his mind forever.

Knowing Jack - Julie Elizabeth Powell

Water & Storm Country

Water & Storm Country (The Country Saga, #3)Water & Storm Country by David Estes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

another great addition to the series and an enjoyable read. So the country series is done and onto the dwellers so that I can read the final book in the dual series.

Her mother is a rider her father is a wise man. Sadie is like her mother and it's been ordained that she will also be a rider, this suits Sadie as she wants revenge on the soakers that killed her brother. She still blames her father for not being brave enough to save her brother. Will she learn the truth before it's too late?

Our friends from the Sun Country and Ice Country come looking for their family and to try and discover why this tribe of people are taking their children.

Lots of surprised in this novel. A great story of human nature both good and bad. How people from opposite sides of the tracks can come together for the good of all.

Night Pleasures - Sherrilyn Kenyon

Night Pleasures (Dark-Hunter, #2)Night Pleasures by Sherrilyn Kenyon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It's not every day you wake up handcuffed to a 'yummy leather guy' especially one that has the looks of a Greek god. Amanda's boring life was just about to explode into action packed. Priding herself on being the normal one in her family of supernatural powered siblings. Kyrian of Thrace (yummy leather guy) turned dark hunter without a soul, is surprised that after 2000 years of not being able to trust a woman enough to sleep with her. Amanda has him feeling out of control and unable to resist. But can he trust her, after all her sister is a vampire hunter.

The sex scenes rival 50 shades. The action scenes are slightly Angel. (Buffy the Vampire Slayer series) but overall a book I couldn't put down.

Ice Country - David Estes

Ice Country (The Country Saga, #2)Ice Country by David Estes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dazz and Buff too teenage larrikins. Drinking and fighting, work pftt what's that. But that all changes when they get kicked out and banned from their favourite watering hole. They have to raise money for the repairs. Now this opens up a whole new world for them. They try the easy way out which lands them in more hot water.
King Goff is an evil man, but they are yet to find out how evil he really is.

I loved this story and how it incorporates the same style as fire country with the language. It's a great flow on from fire country involving some of the main characters from the marked the wildes and the heaters. The lead onto water and storm country can only see more of the same involvement. I look forward to reading that one too.

Find out finally 'what' Beck is. Meet some new people along the way some good and some not so nice as the appear. A new adventure is around every corner as they desperately attempt to get home. Guardian Series - Gillian Joy

GuardianGuardian by Gillian Joy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fantastic read right from page 1. Hannah is a very strong willed person who knows what she wants. Tragedy early on helps to form her life. Believing she has lost everyone dear to her she forms a life for herself. But never stays too long in one place. Dealing with crudelitas has become a way of life.

A fantastic story of love and survival. I love how the book incorporates a wide range of supernatural creatures. Other than a few errors in words and sentences this was an easy read, great to pick up and read at any stage. I can't wait to read the second novel in the series xx

Forever (Guardian, #2)Forever by Gillian Joy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fantastic sequel to Guardian. Hannah deals with the crudelitas with a fair but firm hand. Her life becomes a little harder when her best friend Sam moves countries. Lots of surprises and revelations in this novel. Loved it and couldn't put it down.

Donkey Hoo Tee

Donkey Hoo Tee (The Diaries of Robins Toys)Donkey Hoo Tee by Ken Lake
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A great children's book, loved the pictures and the educational content that is in the book too. The story about the hard life of a donkey and the reward of kindness.

Crazy Little Thing Called Love

Crazy Thing Called Love (Crooked Creek Ranch, #3)Crazy Thing Called Love by Molly O'Keefe
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I haven't read the first 2 books in the trilogy but I really enjoyed this novel. The second chance romance is always intriguing. I loved the way they shared the history of them and bringing the kids into it. I love the rags to riches tales also. Billy seems like a tough hockey player but becomes a teddy bear in the face of love for his ex wife, niece & nephew. Can he turn his life around? Can she go back to being part of the person she used to be. 2 people who have the ability to hurt each other so much, but come to realise they need each other's strengths.

The Vale Girl - Nelika McDonald

The Vale GirlThe Vale Girl by Nelika McDonald
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Great read, it took me awhile to get into this book, but I am glad I stuck with it.
Lots of twists and turns, some you see coming and others not so much.
The story is based around a girl who is looking after her alcoholic prostitute mother in a small town, where many judge the daughter to be the same as her mother. The story behind Suzannah becoming a alcoholic and a prostitute is one that you hear often, with an abusive, bully for a father, but small town mentality of not rocking the boat leads to cover ups.
Sarah's friend Tommy is a lost soul who has lost his mother and lives alone most of the time as his father goes away to work. He would do anything to protect Sarah.
Police officer Henson takes Tommy under his wing as he helps try to solve Sarah's disappearance. No one really seems interested in helping to find the prostitutes daughter, they are more focused on the Grevilla Festival and not drawing attention to the town. This changes a little when they realised that another teenager has gone missing. This time the son of the town bully, who has the tendancy to take after his father. The media invade the town.
Worth the read, I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good twist in a storyline and the struggles some take to survive.

Lost Shadows - Julie Elizabeth Powell

Lost ShadowsLost Shadows by Julie Elizabeth Powell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I found the storyline a little confusing to begin with as it jumped between characters, but it all began to make sense as the story tied in together. I enjoyed the story of light vs dark. The backgrounds of the characters and their individual enlightenment. The ending was beautiful.
Adam can't remember anything about his life. He has been told his name and that he was in a car accident and his parents died. Dr Pamela tries to help him remember, but is the hypnosis helping him to remember or leading him to his fate? Follow this boys journey to find out.

Divergent (Divergent, #1)Divergent by Veronica Roth
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved the concept of the 5 factions and their roles. Tris is a very easy character to relate too. The ups and downs of leaving her family for a faction that is in ways alike, however very different to her upbringing. Initiation is the hardest thing to get through. Can Tris make it or will she be left factionless which is her greatest fear. Four, is he friend or foe. One minute he seems to be a protector and a friend and then he is yelling at her. Will she work him out. Eric one of the dauntless leaders seems pure evil. Is there something he is hiding? Will Tris be forgiven for not staying with the Abnegation?

A fantastic novel. Highly recommended to anyone who loves YA fiction and or dystopian genre.

Insurgent (Divergent, #2)Insurgent by Veronica Roth
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fantastic sequel. Faction turns against faction. There is something that certain leaders don't want everyone to know. Will it be discovered before it's too late. Will Tris and Tobias survive the attempts to turn them against one another? The ending leaves you desperate for book 3.

View all my reviews Allegiant (Divergent #3)Allegiant by Veronica Roth
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Just read some of the reviews and I am hesitant to continue reading now. I loved the first 2 books so much.

Tris and Tobias (Four) find out what is beyond the wall when the Allegiant faction go to find out if Edith Prior's message is correct. The Allegiant split into 2 groups, one to stay and fight the new factionless army and the other to find out what is beyond that wall and if they can help stop the violence in the city. What they find seems great until the truth is revealed.

Despite what a lot of people have said about the end. I must say it was ok. I loved the book. Yes it was sad however, I don't think a book always has to have a happy ending and I also think that Veronica Roth has done a great job with the book. Look at the passion it has created from it's readers. Whether it be outrage or enjoyment, she has achieved what I think a lot of authors strive to achieve and that is making the readers 'feel' the book and it's characters. Let's face it, I get upset with movies and books when they don't end how I want them to. Doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it, just means it has made me passionate about it and stirred up my emotions towards it.

Dirty Business - Julie Elizabeth Powell

Dirty BusinessDirty Business by Julie Elizabeth Powell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A good read, keeping you guessing until the end.
A light novel, that includes, murder, kidnapping, evil genius and some intimacy. The group from "Dirty" find themselves entangled in 2 murders involving their models. Is one of them guilty or is some evil mastermind behind it all. Alex has some problems, are these also tied up with the missing Lily?

I enjoyed this novel that was gifted to me by the author in exchange for an honest and fair review and I would highly recommend it.

Fire Country - David Estes

Fire Country (The Country Saga, #1)Fire Country by David Estes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Where do I start?

The language in the book took me a while to get used to, but in saying that my new cuss word is likely to be Blaze! :)
I love the strong characters and storyline in the book. The way the groups all tie in and the history behind how the groups came to be is well written.
I would like to see more on Siena's father before he became a greynote as he seemed like he was a decent guy, maybe Siena's mothers story and her love before her call, the way the Marked Ones came about.

This story has a bit of everything, Bravery, cowardice, love, hate, happiness, sadness and a bit of a giggle at times too.
