I received an ARC of this novel. I loved it. A great easy read so totally Australian Teen Summer. I remember sending summer holidays on the beach n a similar fashion. Cute surfer boys in their boardies. Samboy Chips mmm yum. Not so much the Big M's for us though more the Farmer's Union Iced Coffee. The way that the author describes the close friendship of the cousins as younger girls and then that drifting off as they got older is something that I can also relate to. Being a country girl and idolising my city cousins. The descriptions of the characters and their mate ship and group camaraderie makes you remember what it was like to be in those precious high school years when all you really had to worry about was boys/ fashion and fun. (in among the study). A bit of Home and Away meets Puberty Blues feel about the novel makes is a great read for older teens and YA. I will be desperately waiting for part 2 in September to see how Lexie and Ballantine's story pans out. Finishing on a cliff hanger ensures that the readers will come back for more.
I really enjoyed this novel and would like to thank the author/Publisher for the opportunity.
