I loved this novel. After a tragic accident where her best friend was killed Joy flees her home town, she has shut out all memories leading up to that point. When her dad dalls ill she is forced to move back. The one person she hopes not to run into s her BFs boyfriend who was badly hurt in the accident. Running into Jeff's dog puts that plan to rest very quicly. Being the new vet in town Joy feels a obligation to nurse the dog back to health and that means talking to Jeff on a daily basis. t also means remembering and recalling all those memories and what happened in the lead up to the accident. Can Jenny's ghost show Joy that she is forgiven/ Can Joy forgive Jeff.

Fantastic romance novel where they leave the best to the imagination.

Beautiful Surrender by Priscilla West

I loved the finale of the trilogy. Vincent and Kristen's relationship has hit some rough points but it has still got plenty of places to go and turns to take.
Last thing that Kristen was exxpecting is her abusive ex tracking her down. She thought she had covered her tracks.
This novel threw me a little, due to the fact that it sends the reader back 2 or so years to help understand the backstory of Kristen and Marty. But once I had read this it really helps the rest of the story flow well. A great choice by Priscilla to include this. Finished well.

This nove was gifted to me through netgalley in exchange for an honest and fair reiew.

Secret Surrender by Priscilla West

This book was gifted to me for an honest review through NetGalley.

I enjoyed the second novel in the series. A lot of hot scenes. We see more of Vincent's former life in this novel and are also introduced to Kristen's ex.
I didn't enjoy this as much as the first, however I am looking forward to the next in the series to see how the story ends.
Priscilla's writing style is very realistic and intimate in this novella.

Forbidden surrender by Priscilla West

Copy courtesy of the author, via Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review

Vincent Sorenson, spoilt millionaire or risk taking bad boy. Both could be used to describe our main character. Kirsten is a finance analyst who is assigned with her boss to win over his account. All the preparation in the world could not prepare her for the feelings she has when she literally falls in his lap at their first business meeting. After what seemed like a failed attempt at winning him over, she is surprised to run into him at a backstreet bar and learning of other ways he does his business. Kirsten is going places with her keen intelligence and knowledge. But can she resist the charm of this bad boy who usually gets what he wants. Will she discover another side to him?
I enjoy Priscilla's writing style. Touching on subjects that can affect us all. Descriptive, not repetitive in her explicit scenes. Can't wait to read more.

Rescued by Priscilla West

I enjoyed the conclusion to Hunter and Lorrie's story. The challenges they face and the road they travel to keep their relationship alive. The problems they face are realistic. The reality of living with MS and coming to terms with it for both of them is hard. But together they learn to be strong and live life to the fullest.

Priscilla has finished off the series well. Rescued being more about the long term relationship, where as the first novel was more about the 'honeymoon' phase of the relationship. Great read for NA, still sexual content that is more suited to 18+

Wrecked by Priscilla West

Lorrie has lost so much in her life, returning to college is hopefully going to be less stressful than she imagines. But she has her best friend to help her through. Falling in an freezing lake and being rescued by a gorgeous guy who is all muscle and tattoos wasn't on her agenda either. But it could be one of the best things to happen to her, or could it? What is Hunter hiding.. Can these 2 save each other or will it all end in a train wreck?
A well written novel by Priscilla West, had me enjoying the friendships and college campus life. Showing that there is usually more to people than what is on the surface, something that she has displayed well in her characters. Looking forward to reading rescued to see how their story progresses.

Growing Sideways by Nick Glade-Wright

A great story about a struggling art student who shares his stories the inspiration he finds in life to use on his painting. Joe is a guy he can listen to and take advice from, but can he make him think differently about his family?
A fun look into the life of a young artist, struggling to make ends meet.

Close to Home - Pamela Cook

Close to home - Coming Home. When Charlie is assigned to a possible Hendra Virus case the last thing she is expecting is that it is in the Home town she fled from so many years before. She hopes to get in and out without being noticed too much. She is in for a shock when she finds out where the outbreak is. The terror and fear all comes back to haunt her as she deals with violence towards herself and others. She is certainly not expecting to find herself attracted to a red hot park ranger either. Can coming home heal the past for her and her estranged family?
Pamela has done a fantastic job with this novel, it flows well together and takes a serious look at serious issues such as Virus outbreaks and the danger they can cause along with domestic violence, however she lightens the story with a romantic pairing and the positive ending to the story, leaving readers looking for more. Thanks for the opportunity to read and review your novel.

Bad boy - innocent girl ... love has no boundaries. Can Rory tame the gorgeous Travis? She is sure that he would never give someone like her a glance. Can they be together despite all the challenges that they face.

t enjoyed this novel and loved the love conquers all feel that it has. It explore alot of different issues and troubles that couples can face with family and life in general. To be in love is easy, to make it work is not always as easy. Well written and at times heart wrenching.

Paradise City - C.J. Duggan

I received an ARC of this novel. I loved it. A great easy read so totally Australian Teen Summer. I remember sending summer holidays on the beach n a similar fashion. Cute surfer boys in their boardies. Samboy Chips mmm yum. Not so much the Big M's for us though more the Farmer's Union Iced Coffee. The way that the author describes the close friendship of the cousins as younger girls and then that drifting off as they got older is something that I can also relate to. Being a country girl and idolising my city cousins. The descriptions of the characters and their mate ship and group camaraderie makes you remember what it was like to be in those precious high school years when all you really had to worry about was boys/ fashion and fun. (in among the study). A bit of Home and Away meets Puberty Blues feel about the novel makes is a great read for older teens and YA. I will be desperately waiting for part 2 in September to see how Lexie and Ballantine's story pans out. Finishing on a cliff hanger ensures that the readers will come back for more.
I really enjoyed this novel and would like to thank the author/Publisher for the opportunity.

The Boy From The Woods - Jen Minkman

When Julia discovers Michael's lifeless body in the woods after a wild storm.she is sure he is dead. But miraculously he is not only alive he seems like a new person. Gone is the ego driven teen and in place is the boy that Julia had fallen for in her mind. Meanwhile Anne is starting to believe in the fairytale story that Julia reads to her about the prince of the forest. This turns out to be more than anyone expected and leads Anne into danger. Not all fairytales have happy endings.

A well written novel for teens and YA. A group of friends just out of high school and their summer love and adventures. I love the fact that the author has written in same gender romance and different teen personalities. Goth / Geek etc. the descriptions of the forest are wonderful and I can imagine spending summer days under the oak tree.
I was gifted a copy for review by the author. Thanks for the opportunity. I enjoyed the read.

Seasons of Shadow and Light - Jenn J McLeod

If you love happy endings this is a story you must read. The story of sisters ripped away from each other at a young age. Each being told a different story about that fateful night. Paige not even knowing that Rory existed. Fate plays a big part when Paige needs to get away from her marriage to assess the situation of a cheating husband and a man she has fallen out of love with. A flooded countryside and misdirected detour and unbeknownst to her she is in her dead mothers home town. Alice had promised Nancy before her death that she would never tell Paige the truth about her childhood to ensure that she stays protected. But will Alice be able to keep her promise once Rory shows up.
The dark and the light, Ebony and Aurora.  The story behind this story is a really inspiring and heart warming journey, How we should never give up. There are answers out there that we may not even know we are seeking.
Apart from some small editing/ grammar errors this book was an exceptional read. I struggled a little with the to and fro from past to present in the first few chapters, but this quickly passed and I couldn't put the book down.
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review your novel.

A Roux of Revenge (Soup Lover's Mystery #3) by Connie Archer

A mystery to be solved in the little town of Snowflake, people pretending to be someone they are not, mysteries from the past and an old flame trying to break up Snowflake's favourite couple. This novel has it all, a fun filled novel of small town life and how things can become twisted when someone shows up dead. Lucky and Jack pitch in to try and work out who and how this has come about. But they put themselves in the path of danger. will it end in disaster? I won this novel in the Goodreads first reads giveaways. I thorough enjoyed the writing style of Connie Archer. A bit of everything I enjoy in a good story. Thanks for the opportunity.

Defiant by Mara Li (Goodreads Author), Jen Minkman (Goodreads Author), Lis Lucassen

This book was gifted to me by the author in exchange for an honest and fair review.

3 stories, all show escape from corrupt authority in dystopian worlds.

All stories are similar in the fact there are the privileged and the ghetto dwellers/fools and Stateless. Society leads the privileged to believe that the other side a are wild lawless and low class. Truth be known they are free from dictatorship. The first story, would be the only exception to this.
The red messenger, shows of uprising and rebellion against the privileged.

The island, can you imagine a world where you are forced to become an adult and leave your parents at age 10? A very story that very much shows a cult like existence. The Star Wars references are fantastic, especially since our family are very much 'geeks'

The tribunal, a corrupt society where the stateless are considered guilty for simply breeching the wall. First time on the tribunal teaches Justa much more about her past than she expects and that the Stateless are not all what she has been lead to believe.

3 great stories. Thanks for the opportunity.

The End of Snow: Murder in Squaw Valley (Book 1 of the Laura Bailey Snow Science Mysteries)

It took me a little while to get into this novel, the first few chapters were very scientifically describing what a snow scientist does. Now this is important information for the main character of the book, however my mi d was often drifting away from the words. The book did take.a major turn for the batter though. I enjoyed the twists and turns and the suspense that was threaded through the story. Getting to know the locals and the main characters was fun. I.won this novel I. A Goodreads giveaway, thanks for the opportunity.

Damages: Justin & Mary (The MacLanes, #2) by R.J. Van Cleave

Loved the storyline. It shows a little how hard it can be for victims of domestic violence to learn to trust again. The family unit is truly special and I love how the boys interact, with each other and their wives. A few twists in the story keep you on edge. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is there were some mistakes in the names of the brothers on occasion, words missing and Mary having organism's instead of orgasms. Great novel anyway. I am glad I got to read this novel.

Nona and Me by Clare Atkins

A truly inspiring story about 2 different cultures and how they can be so intertwined, yet so separated. It shows how much racism can hurt and effect communities and relationships. I loved the story of the 2 girls growing up and then losing each other. It's fantastic to see that Rosie comes to her senses and what is truly important. The love of family over young love. How there is good and bad in all races and how something that happens can taint our view of the whole race.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the traditions that are followed and hardships that certain tribes overcome.

Walk On: The Remarkable True Story of the Last Person Sentenced to Death in Australia

What a shitty life this poor woman had. The abuse she suffered through and survived is amazing. She committed a crime and did her time for it, rehabilitating herself through writing and education. A very interesting read.

Jilted by Rachael Johns

A fantastic Australian novel. I love the references that are totally Aussie. This book had me drawn in right from the start and I read it in a day because I couldn't put it down. A touching story showing they way that love can overcome barriers and years. There were tears and smiles. The sex scenes were just right and left enough to the imagination. So well written I can wait to read more from Rachael.

Gone Girl - Gillian Flynn

Twists and turns. Amy is truly a psycho bitch. But then is Nick any better? The way the book is written from the 2 different sides is great, it keeps you in both their heads so that you know what they are both planning plotting and feeling. Very weird ending. After all that happens to believe they can end the way they do. It's a mind twister, but a good one to keep you thinking.

Imperfect Chemistry (Imperfect Series #1)

An unusual romance, but oh so enjoyable storyline. Experiments can lead to unexpected outcomes, sometimes good sometimes things don't go as expected. Lucy is about to embark on an experiment to learn about human emotion. What she learns is so much more powerful than she expects. What comes out of her mouth is never what anyone expects, it's a very refreshing look at romance. I enjoyed the quotes at the start of each chapter. A well written and easy novel to read thank you. This book was gifted to me by the author in exchange for an honest and fair review.

Want: Trust no one, no one trusts (Numbered, #1)

As one of the top placed medical students Aurelia achieved a placing in Lunar city working at the hospital there. On the way from Earth, that was rebuilt after Ww3 wiped out most of humanity as we know it, her shuttle was attacked. Not knowing the reason behind this or how this was going to change her life, Aurelia met 3 men all of whom would have an important impact on her life and help her to see how things really are between the high I've elitists, the clones and the earth city workers. Meeting her boss Elza was another experience that didn't go as smooth as expected. Elza too would be someone to change and help Aurelia. This was a very interesting read and one that I am sure my son would also love to read. Once again a dystopian novel with the ruling class and the lower classes who are having to work for them to have their comfortable life. This book was gifted to me by the author in exchange for an honest and fair review. Thank you for the opportunity

The Space In Between - Jen Minkman

** spoiler alert ** The witch, the healer and the art student. Tabby tries a spell to connect to their grandparents at the stone circle, little does she know that this is going to open up a whole different world for them all. Moira can't understand why she is being drawn back to the world in between when she sleeps, this mysterious guy she meets up with and believes she needs to help shows her there is more to her mortal life than what she is experiencing. She needs to be true to herself and make some changes.
I love the twists and turns that Jen has written into this novel. The significance of the Angels and of the connection between the two main characters is fantastically written. It truly makes you stop and wonder how much of this in between world that coma patients really experience, maybe none. But she makes it so believable that I would never doubt it. To bring them back or to help them pass over.
A few small spelling and grammatical errors are easy to overlook.
This novel was gifted to me by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for the chance to review this novel
